Maybach Foundation Honors Edward Norton and Hosts Celebrity Gaming NightAt this year’s Cannes Film Festival, the Wilhelm & Karl Maybach Foundation and the Sunflower Children Foundation hosted a celebrity gaming night to raise money for their charitable projects. The glamorous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc (Cap d'Antibes) opened its doors to V.I.P.s of film, business, fashion and sports. |
The Maybach Foundation had also the pleasure of welcoming celebrities Paris Hilton, Emile Hirsch, Malin Akerman, Willem Dafoe, Hofit Golan, Adrian Paul, Doug Reinhardt, Lars von Trier, Lawrence Bender and Paulo Coelho, among 250 other exclusive guests. On May 18, the Maybach Foundation held its annual “Private Luncheon at Cannes” at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc to celebrate this year's award winner, Edward Norton, who joined the ranks of previous honorees Dennis Hopper and Quincy Jones. The Maybach Foundation honored Edward Norton for his charitable work. Ulrich Schmid-Maybach, president of the Foundation, emphasized that “the extraordinary engagement of Edward Norton is an excellent example of genuine celebrity support for charitable cause”. Due to his filming schedule in Detroit, Edward Norton could not appear in person. However, he apologized for not being present in Cannes and thanked the Foundation via video message. “It is a great compliment to receive this prestigious award,” he said. The Maybach award is an annual award honoring leaders in the entertainment industry who "give back" to society by inspiring others through their philanthropic engagement or mentoring.
